WAEC Subject Combination For Quantity Surveying
In WAEC, NECO or GCE, you are expected to register a maximum of 9 subjects for a Quantity Surveying degree. You can register for less than 9 subjects if you are resitting.
However, you must have at least 5 credit passes amongst the 9 subjects listed below before you can gain admission into any Nigerian university to study for a Quantity Surveying degree.

Quantity Surveying is how many years course and under which faculty?
Depending on your mode of entry, Quantity Surveying is a three to four years course in Nigeria. According to JAMB, Quantity Surveying is under the Faculty of Science but may be under a different faculty in some universities.
Can a commercial or art student study Quantity Surveying?
No! Quantity Surveying is a pure science course and not suitable for commercial or art student. But if you have required subject combination in your O level result, you can go for it if that is the course you desire to study. If you’re still in secondary school, you may find it difficult to change subjects during WAEC registration because your schools may go against it. The alternative way to write the required subjects combination for Quantity Surveying is through GCE.

- Federal University of Technology, Akure requires five credits in the WASSCE or NECO or GCE O’ Level or its equivalent in English Language, Mathematics and Physics and any two of the following subjects: Chemistry, Economics, Building Construction, Technical Drawing, Geography, and Government.
- Modibbo Adama University of Technology, Yola (MAUTY) requires credit to include including English, Mathematics, Physics and any two of Geography, Chemistry, Technical Drawing, Fine Arts, Economics, Biology and Agricultural Science
- University of Lagos (UNILAG) requires credit in English Language, Mathematics, Physics and any two of Geography, Chemistry, Technical Drawing and Economics.
- Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka (UNIZIK) may accept a pass in English Language
- Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka (UNIZIK) accept a pass in English Language.
- Imo State University, Owerri (IMSU) accepts Mathematics, and any other subject.
- Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka (UNIZIK) accepts Technical Drawing, Fine Art and Economics and accepts a pass in English Language.
- Joseph Ayo Babalola University, Ikeji-Arakeji requires five credit English Language, Physics, Mathematics, Chemistry and any one of the following Geography, Fine Art, Woodwork, Technical Drawing, Biology or Economics plus ND at Upper Credit level.
- Osun State University Osogbo (UNIOSUN) requires Five ‘O’ level credits in English Language, Mathematics and any one of Physics, Chemistry, Building Construction and/or Technical Drawing.
- RENAISANCE same as in Quantity Surveying
- Bells University of Technology, Otta requires Five SSCE Credit passes in English Language, Mathematics, Physics, Economics, and any one from the following:, Chemistry, Biology, Geography, Economics. For Survey and Geoinformatics requires Five SSCE Credit passes in English Language, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, and any one from Biology and Geography.
- University of Uyo requires credit in five O’ level subjects to include English Language, Mathematics and Physics plus any two from Chemistry, Economics and Geography, Technical Drawing
- University of Nigeria, Nsukka (UNN) accepts SSCE or its equivalent with five credits including Mathematics, Physics and English Language.
- Bauchi State University, Gadau requires five SSCE credit in English Language, Mathematics, Physics and any two from Chemistry, Technical Drawing, Geography, Biology, Information Technology or Land Surveying.
- River State University of Science and Technology (RSUST) requires five (5) SSCE/GCE O’ level credit level passes and should include Physics. English Language, Chemistry, Mathematics and any Science subject from Geography, Technical Drawing, and Economics.
- University of Jos (UNIJOS) accepts five credit at ‘O’ level Senior Secondary School Certificate Examination or equivalent and must include: English Language, Mathematics, Physics and any subjects from Technical Drawing, Economics, Geography, Chemistry, Biology, Commerce, Building Construction, Land Surveying and Fine Arts.
- Enugu State University of Science and Technology, Enugu (ESUT) for Quantity Surveying requires credit in English Language, Mathematics, Physics and any two from Chemistry, Geography, Biology, Technical Drawing, Fine & Applied Arts and Economics.
