Programmes

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing

The admission requirement to study Nursing at Moi University

  • Candidate must have a minimum Mean Grade of B at KCSE; B- (Minus) in Biology and Chemistry; and either Mathematics or Physics; and either English or Kiswahili. A weighted cluster points of 36 and above is mandatory OR
  • ‘A’ Level – 3 principal passes in Biology and chemistry and either Mathematics or Physics.
  • Holders of Diplomas in relevant area of study from Kenya Medical College must have the following grades. Mean grade of C+ and a C+ in Biology and Chemistry, Mathematics or Physics and any other subject OR Mean grade of C+ and a C+ in Biological Sciences, Physical Sciences and Mathematics and either English or Kiswahili. O’ & A’ level British GCE system applicants must have an A or B in Biology. NB. Interviews will be in both oral and written form.

Programmes

  • Master of Science (MSc.) Medical Education

The admission requirement to study Medical Education at Moi University

  • Candidate must have a minimum meet the common Moi University School of Medicine Graduate Studies Committee (SOMGSC) entry requirements as they refer to Master of Science Programmes
  • A Bachelor of Science degree in the Health Profession.
  • If from foreign countries, show evidence of proficiency in English language
  • Pass admission interviews as determined by the Departmental Postgraduate Committee

  • PhD in Medical Education

The admission requirement

  • Candidate must meet the common Moi University School of Medicine Graduate Studies Committee (SOMGSC) entry requirements as they refer to Doctor of Philosophy Programmes
  • An applicant must hold a masters degree in Medicine, Medical Education or a related discipline from Moi University or Institutions approved by Moi University Senate
  • An applicant must have a minimum of three (3) years of teaching experience in health related discipline. Chemistry; and either Mathematics or Physics.
  • Diploma in international Be accurate (IB) System, with relevant subjects as Biology and Chemistry; and either Mathematics or Physics.

 

Programmes

  • Bachelor of Science in Community Health Education

The admission requirement to study Community Health Education at Moi University

  • Candidate must have a minimum Mean Grade of C+ at KCSE; C+ in Biology and Chemistry; and either Mathematics or Physics and either English or Kiswahili. A weighted cluster points of 28 and above is mandatory OR
  • Holders of qualifications equivalent to the above from institutions recognized by Moi University Senate may be considered. Candidates with relevant diplomas or University degrees who fulfill all other University entry requirements may be considered.

The admission requirement to study Maternal and Neonatal Health at Moi University

  • Applicants must be holders a holder of BSc. Nursing degree or its equivalent from a University recognized by Moi University senate.
  • Be registered or eligible for registration as a nurse by the Nursing Council of Kenya
