WAEC subject combination (requirements) for Animal Health and Production Technology
You’re expected to have at least 5 credits on the required WAEC subject combination needed to study Animal Health and Production Technology in Nigeria polytechnics. Can a commercial or art student study Animal Health and Production Technology?
No! If you are a Commercial or an Art student, you cannot study study Animal Health and Production Technology at the polytechnic because it is a pure science course which need a good background in science subjects. To avoid discouragement, you can go for this course if you wish provided you have the required subjects combination in your O level result. If you’re still in secondary school, you may find it difficult to change subjects to fit your desired course during WAEC registration because some schools may go against it.
Special Consideration
Now I am confident that you know the compulsory subjects needed to study Animal Health and Production Technology in polytechnics. c) BUCOA-HAD – requires Mathematics and any two subjects from Physics, Geography, Biology/Agricultural Science and Economics as UTME subjects
d) Niger State College of Agriculture, Niger State. requires credit passes in Biology/Agricultural Science, Mathematics and any other Science subject as course requirement.
e) Federal Polytechnic, Mubi, Adamawa State. accepts a pass in Mathematics/Statistics and English Language with credit passes in Chemistry, Agricultural Science/Biology and any two such as Geography, Physics, Economics, Home Economics, Food and Nutrition and Technical Drawing.
f) Imo State Polytechnic, Umuagwo, Imo State: A pass in chemistry is compulsory. At least a pass in Statistics. Requires credit in English Language (not Lit. In English).
g) FEDWILD-NBUS requires a pass in English Language and Chemistry are compulsory. Credit passes in Biology/Agric. Science, Mathematics and any three of the following – Geography, Food and Nutrition, Economics, Technical Drawing, English Language, Physics, Chemistry, Nigerian Language and Home Economics
h) FEDANIM-VOM requires credit passes in not more than two sittings in Biology/Agricultural Science, English Language, Mathematics and any two of the following: Geography, Food and Nutrition, Economics/Commerce, Technical Drawing, Physics, Chemistry, Nigerian Language, Home Economics, French Language. At least a pass in Chemistry is compulsory
