As the most populated country in Africa, Nigeria is home to over 145 universities and several polytechnics, monotechnic, and colleges of education. In this post, I will only focus on universities in Nigeria. If you wish to study in Nigeria, you have the options to choose from any university you desire if you have the required resources.
In this post, I am going to list all the universities in Nigeria approved by NUC. There are many universities in Nigeria mostly private that are not approved, so you won’t get to see them on this list. If you are overwhelmed by this list, you can consider the best university in Nigeria and make your decision from there.
In this post, you will see all federal government-owned universities. These are universities in Nigeria that can be controlled by the federal government of Nigeria while state universities are controlled by the state government, but they are both under the supervision of NUC. There are some states in Nigeria where both federal and state and private universities can be located.
Private universities are universities in Nigeria owned and controlled by individuals, corporate bodies, and religious bodies but under the supervision of NUC. Moreover, admission into these universities (federal, state, and private) in Nigeria are governed by JAMB. Other required documents for admission into any of these universities in Nigeria are issued by WAEC or NECO.
Unfortunately, I will not share with you 2 sensitive info such as JAMB and POST JAMB cut-off marks and the tuition fees of these universities in Nigeria. The reason is that such information is subject to frequent changes and we strive to avoid sharing information based on time.
